Grilstad Marina - Fullriggerskogen

Trondheim, Norway

Located in the Trondheim Fjord, an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, the site is situated at the far end of Grilstad Marina and consists of the last remaining unbuilt areas of the extensive island development. To create a sense of identity on such a large site, green elements are emphasised to divide the site into smaller areas that are distinct from one another and create different neighborhoods. Fullriggerskogen (Fullrigger Forest), stretching from the main road to the public beach, is both extrovert and introvert providing views both towards the north and south. The landscape is elevated towards the north and falls towards the south, thereby creating variety in an otherwise flat landscape.
